Redfin just made a $100M handshake with Zillow, handing over its rental listings in exchange for a fat payday. But there’s a catch—450 Redfin employees are getting the boot as the company restructures its rentals division. The layoffs roll out between now and July, with Redfin expecting to burn up to $21M in restructuring costs.

The move lets Redfin focus on its other plays—lending, title services, and whatever else they think will actually make money. Investors seem to like the pivot—Redfin stock popped 11% on the news.
